It was another busy week across St Agnes GAC, with football, hurling, strength and conditioning, juvenile training and a fantastic morning of underage football at Páirc Naomh Úna.
A Memorable Morning for Our U10 Boys
Sunday was a very special day for the club as we welcomed Naomh Eoin and Oliver Plunketts Eoghan Rua from Dublin to Woodlands for a brilliant U10 football tournament.
Despite horrendous weather conditions, the young players produced some excellent football and enjoyed five matches against quality opposition. The morning was about much more than results: it allowed our boys to test themselves, make new friends, enjoy their football and proudly represent St Agnes.
Thank you to our Juvenile Committee, coaches, mentors, referees, pitch volunteers and everyone who kept the tea and coffee flowing for parents and visitors. We received fantastic feedback from the visiting clubs, which everyone involved should be proud of.
A special moment saw St Agnes coach Kevin McCann presented with a commemorative plaque from Oliver Plunketts Eoghan Rua. Thank you to both visiting clubs for helping to create such a memorable day.
Five matches. Three clubs. New friendships. Brilliant memories.
U12 Girls Defeat Ardoyne
Congratulations to our U12 girls, who recorded a fantastic victory over Ardoyne at Woodlands on Friday evening.
The girls produced an excellent exhibition of teamwork and score-taking. They worked tirelessly for one another, played some brilliant football and were a credit to St Agnes. Well done to every player and coach.
U8 Girls’ Go Games
Our U8 girls enjoyed a brilliant day of Go Games at O’Donnell’s pitch on the Whiterock Road on Saturday.
The girls were fantastic throughout, displaying excellent skills, teamwork and enthusiasm while proudly representing St Agnes.
It was an especially significant occasion as it marked the final U8 Go Games for some of our brilliant young players before they move up to U10 football for the 2027 season.
Well done, girls! You are a credit to your families and your club.
U14 Boys’ Football
Our U14 boys faced Pearse’s in the league at Woodlands on Wednesday evening. It was a narrow defeat, but the lads can be proud of their effort and commitment. Their focus now turns towards their next Championship outing.
Junior B Hurling Championship Semi-Final
All Saints Ballymena 1-21
St Agnes 1-10
Our senior hurlers brought their season to a close against All Saints Ballymena in Sunday’s Junior B Hurling Championship semi-final at Woodlands.
The lads battled well, but Ballymena’s scoring power and fitness proved decisive during the second half as they secured their place in the final.
Hard luck to all the players and management team. We now look forward in earnest to the 2027 season.
Training and Juvenile Activity
Our U12 and U14 girls continued their regular training, while the U12 boys worked on their development with a strength and conditioning session at the Hi Performance Gym.
Weekly juvenile training also continued on Friday evening at the Woodlands 4G pitch. Thank you to every coach, parent and volunteer who makes these sessions possible. New children are always welcome.
Thank You to Our Volunteers
Every training session, match and club event relies on people generously giving their time. Thank you to our coaches, committee members, referees, parents and volunteers for everything you contributed throughout another busy week.
Our club. Our young players. Our future.
Aggies Abú! 🖤🤍
