Is there any details of when Gentle Giant Mick will be brought home. Is there any funeral arrangements?
This will be posted once we know the arrangements.

Mick, youve been there through every stage in my time at naomh una. ill never forget our chats about a few of us young ones breaking on to the senior panel. it feels weird that now we are starting to do so you wont be there along side us. You were one of the nicest guys to walk this earth. I just want to say thank you for everything you have done. not just for me but the whole of the club. RIP Mick x

I feel hurt and annoyed that this awful thing could happen to such a good person. I will miss you alot michael. If i turn out to be just half the man you were i will be happy and proud. We here at st.agnes have not only lost a commitee member, a teammate, a friend but also a family member as that is what you were to us espcially the minors whom most could say felt you were like our older brother. Im missing you loads and hope i see you again. love you mick, R.I.P.

On behalf of the committee and members of Cardinal O'Donnell's I wish to pass on sincere sympathies to the family & friends of Michael McLean (RIP)

On a personal level I count myself lucky in getting the opportunity to meet big Michael last year in his role as coach of Belfast Lamh Dhearg (a cross community hurling/shinty team) when my son was selected to play.

An absolute smashing fella he was, well mannered and a real big gentle giant; after last years junior final he showed his class when he called down to our club for a few beers and a bit of craic despite his heartbreak at losing the match an hour or two earlier.

To be honest I can't really write much more about the lad, words just can't capture the devastation his loved ones must be feeling at this time.

Rest in peace chara.

No farewell words were spoken,
No time to say goodbye,
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God can tell us why
I sit and wonder here today,
Why the Lord chose to call you away,
I think he saw you needed rest,
He only takes the very best!

As genuine a fella as you could meet. A true gent! Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.
RIP Big Mick McLean
Name: A good friend
The memories of you are engraved within my heart
Nothing in this world could ever tear us apart
We were pretty close I hope I can say
You were so great I’ll never forget those days
You were such a fun person and your personality was great
Everyone loved you not one could hate
Your future was great you had so much in store
When I’m forced to think of it, it rots me to the core
I spend most of my time thinking of you
And reminiscing of the things we said we’d do
What I wouldn’t give  to be in your place
I’d give the whole world just to see your face
I think  I’m going crazy or maybe insane
But no one will understand this heartbreaking pain
I’ve been thinking of the days when were together
I now cherish those moments I also hope you remember
You’re always in my head and I can’t get you out
I get so mad at times  that I just want to shout
I feel as if pieces are missing like a book with no end
Too late to tell you how I feel now and forever, only a friend
My memories of you, Fly by me fast
And everything I remember of you, Is now in the past
All the sweet thoughts of you, Brings a tear to my eye
I miss you so much, I wish you’d say goodbye…
I hope heaven’s good to you
And I hope you get your Wings and maybe when I get there
You can show me all the beautiful things
That day when angels came down was a sad day of grief
When I first found out I stood in disbelief
Although you’re gone you still feel so close
Maybe it’s the thought of missing you the most
I wish this was a joke a foolish lie
But I still can’t believe that you’ve had to say goodbye…
